At our Academy we prepare children for life in modern Britain. This can be seen in our Academy through:

  • Our school community regarding people of all faiths, races, cultures and orientation with respect and tolerance

  • Our school community understanding the difference between British law and differing views on right and wrong

  • Our ethos and teaching which supports British law

  • Making our school community aware of the difference between the law of the land and religious law

  • Our Aspirations curriculum which has a clear focus on the principles of building character and self worth amongst all our students, inspiring them to become positively engagement and commitment, and guiding them to become confidence to take action.

  • An awareness of individual responsibilities and rights taught through RE and PSHCE

  • Partnership links with the local police force

  • Assemblies and workshops about rights,  responsibilities and anti-social behaviour

  • Awareness of appropriate current affairs

  • Trips to Parliament

  • Partnership links with local government, and visits from the mayor and local councillors.

In our school community we demonstrate Individual Liberty through:

  • Students making individual choices in a safe, supportive environment

  • Students learning about self advocacy, resilience and stoicism, thereby developing their characters and confidence allowing them to tackle challenges and difficulties

  • The wide choice and variety of extra-curricular enrichment activities that are available to all our students.

  • Providing safe opportunities for our students to take risks

  • Celebrating differences in culture and orientation

  • A keen focus on Self-worth and Character

In our school community we demonstrate Mutual Respect through:
